TONALI: INNOVATION AND TRADITION

History

Tonali's been actively exploiting the integrated security systems field. It was founded by Francesco Tonali in the '30ies and the first anti-robbery, armoured desk, inside a bank building, has been installed in 1958. This solution was conceived with steel reinforced aluminium profiles integrating some bullet-proof glass, at the time imported from the USA: it was the first of about 6000 Tonali security installations during that period.


The incoming '70ies alert Tonali to reformulate the "prevention" concept.
A new proposal was born: interlocked doors equipped inlets, moving from a static and completely passive protection concept to a more open and dynamic vision. The ‘80ies saw the technical evolution and designers’ skilfulness leading to the manufacturing of the first interlocked, automatically managed security gate of the PRIORA® breed. This featured the innovative self-management denomination, so common in the following years to become a market symbol and widely used to identify any protected automatic access.


The '90ies, besides witnessing an uninterrupted flourishing of more and more versatile PRIORA® models, lead the Company to new, sophisticated access-control systems, advanced technological solutions, and biometric devices.
The natural evolving of this philosophy brought to the introduction of high-security access-control systems to restricted areas and basic models for Time & Attendance both in the industrial and retail sectors.


Tonali has been hardly working on this line, acquiring a wide know-how, to be extensively used either in the security field and in the huge Building Management scenario. Time & Attendance, access control, different protection levels, building environmental data have been integrated into a single Building Automation concept with products and programs with an eye to energy-savings.A careful study of the standards and possible solutions, pursued with an unlimited development horizon, is the basis of the TonaliBAS proposal.


In the last years, considering the terrorism risk too, Tonali focused its attention to find security systems dedicated solutions: employees control, building management and territories control. Thanks to technology evolution, nowadays it installs complete automatic security systems, widening the installation target range (banks, industries, army, airports, stations, stadiums, civil protection, harbours, prisons,…). 360° security thanks to the integration and development of new wideband wireless communication systems with a specific focus on security and emergency handling, where the traditional cable wiring is not economical feasible.


FRANCESCO TONALI MUSEUM

In 2008 has been open the museum “History & Memory” in memory of Francesco Tonali, entrepreneur who founded Tonali S.p.A., at Arluno (MI). Tonali shared and supported this important project, giving to the town local administration its own historical documents and a suitable space.
